Book of Hours. Latin script on vellum. With 5 large miniatures with floral borders, 6 major initials with borders as well as numerous small initials. All in gold and colour.
Paris, circa 1400. 18.5 × 13.5 cm [130] ff., 16 lines of Gothic Textura. Written area 12.2 × 17.7 cm. Somewhat late, restored full leather binding (17th century) using old cover with rich floral gold ornament on spine and cover, blind embossed edges (cover slightly warped, slightly rubbed and worn, somewhat stained).

TORSO OF APHRODITE, so-called "Venus Genetrix" type

Greek, Late Hellenistic, 2nd half of the 2nd century B.C. After a model from Fréjus (420-410 B.C.).
White marble carved full round, and sintering. The goddess wrapped in a diaphanous chiton that hugs the curves of her body, with the right hand raised behind the shoulder, exposing the left breast and revealing the shape of her body underneath, the weight resting on the left leg in contrapposto. On a later marble plinth.
H without plinth 26 cm.

France, last quarter of the 15th century. 12 × 8.5 cm. [114] ff. (of which 7 white). Written area 7 × 4.6 cm. 17 line Textura. Black-brown, red and blue ink. Restored brown leather binding of the period, with scudding and roll stamped ornament over wooden boards on 3 cords with 2 intact brass clasps, gilt edge (using the old mounts from cover; somewhat rubbed and abraded, gilt edge faded).
