In 1981 Ingvar Bergström took the work to be by Abraham Mignon. Dr Fred G. Meijer, on the basis of a photograph, suggested the artist to be Pieter Gallis. This painting is registered at RKD, The Hague as by the hand of Pieter Gallis.
