BUREAU WITH COIN CABINET UPPER SECTION,
Baroque, from the workshop of M. FUNK (Mathäus Funk, Murten 1697-1783 Bern), Bern, ca. 1750/70.
Walnut in veneer, finely inlaid with reserves and decorative frieze. Hinged writing surface above 3 drawers. The interior fitted with a large central compartment and drawers. Secret compartments. The recessed upper section with central door, flanked on each side by 14 stacked coin drawers converted into doors. Gilt bronze mounts.
