A PAIR OF EMPIRE VASES
Paris, Manufactory Marc Schoelcher (1798-1834), ca. 1815-20.
Oval-shaped vases with lateral scrolled handles, on four lion-paw feet. Gilt. Both sides decorated with flower still lifes on a dark-red ground, in rectangular gold frames. Applied leaf frieze and rosettes. Marked in brown "Schoelcher" on the unglazed bottom of the foot ring.
