BONE FITTING OF A CASKET “STANDING WARRIOR WITH SHIELD”
Italy, 16th century. Embriacchi workshop.
Bone carved in relief and partly open-worked. The central motif consists of six bearded warriors standing one behind the other, holding spears, banners and shields. The upper end features a tree landscape, the lower end with a platform. On a later base covered with red velour.
Without base 14.5 × 3.5 cm.
