Japan, 18th c. Height 6.3 cm.
Densely decorated in hira- and takamakie with mother-of-pearl and stone inlays with a stylised river extending between scattered flowers and nashiji (gold speckles) over the display sides. Slight signs of wear.
Provenance: Old Swiss private collection, thence by descent.
