"The world stretches wider here in New Mexico than the mind can encompass, so that to understand what it has to say the heart must be enlarged. The obvious facts of space of distance, of brilliant sunlight, of picturesque architecture mean nothing till the walls of personality have been pushed apart. Hence to the traveler who has come to this country from a very long way off, having heard tales of spiritual wonders far more wonderful than those fabulous cities sought by Spanish conquerors, everything is ablank, nothing speaks, all the would-be voices mutter with stricken tongues..." (Elizabeth McCausland cited after White, 1971, p. 82)

Some retouchings, especially to the right top, to the sideward margins a little silverings (only visible in counter light). Mount a little dusty and browned. Allover in very good condition.
