TWO EARLY SAUCERS

Meissen, c. 1723-25. Painting possibly by Johann Gregorius Höroldt.
The first with a chinoiserie scene, a Chinese figure with a parasol and pheasants in a quatrefoil gold cartouche with brown lustre and iron-red plumes. The second with a landscape scene with an equestrian in a gold cartouche with iron-red plumes and a gold lattice border on the rim. Iron-red ring borders on the reverse. Former's mark x for Rehschuh on the first saucer, gold number 12 on the second saucer.
D 13.5 cm und 12.5 cm.


The gilding heavily rubbed.
