MANTEL CLOCK,Empire, Paris. Gilt bronze. Rectangular with a seated female figure, probably the Allegory of Astronomy. On a rectangular plinth with volute feet. Bronze dial. Parisian movement striking the 1/2-hour on bell. H 50 cm. Mount of the movement, altered. Provenance: - from a Zurich private collection.

Auf rechteckigem Gehäuse thronend eine sitzende Frauenfigur, wohl Allegorie der Astronomie. Auf Rechtecksockel und Volutenfüssen. Der Sockel reliefiert mit allegorischen Darstellungen der Künste. Reliefiertes Bronzezifferblatt. Pariserwerk mit Halbstundenschlag auf Glocke. H 50 cm. Montierung des Werkes abgeändert.
Provenienz: Privatbesitz einer Zürcher Sammlerin.
