A COPPER FIGURE OF A DEITY RIDING AN ELEPHANT.

Nepal, ca. 16th c. Height 11.7 cm. Base slightly damaged, head cast separately.
Kupfer. Die Gottheit, wohl Indra oder Samantabhadra, sitzt in lockerer lalitasana auf einem Lotosthron, der gleichzeitig als Sattel dient. In der rechten Hand hält sie eine heilige Schrift. Der Elefant mit eingerolltem Rüssel steht auf einer rechteckigen Lotosblattplinthe. Etwas besch. Der Kopf ist separat gefertigt.
