SMALL HOME ALTAR
Baroque, probably Italy, 17th/18th century.
Wood, carved with shells and painted and parcel-gilt. Rectangular altar, the panels forming the doors painted on the inside with a Station of the Way of the Cross and the Deposition from the Cross. The central interior panel is painted with John and Mary beneath the cross. Later Corpus Christi, carved from bone.
36.5 × 17.5 × 54.5 cm.
