Minerva and Mercury hand Perseus his weapons and attach the wings to his shoes. After Bartholomäus SPRANGER. 1604.
Copper engraving on laid paper with watermark: crowned coat of arms with three lilies and inscribed: POYLEVE, see Churchill 386, circa 1636.
Signed twice in the plate in lower margin: Muller excud. Amstelodami; lower left: L.M.Q.D.D. Janus Muller Sculptor.
Sheet sizes: 57 x 40 cm (slightly unevenly trimmed).

Provenance:
- Private collection, West Switzerland.
Bartsch 69; Hollstein 59; Filedt Kok (New Hollstein) 69 III (of III). - Very fine, strong, clear and even impression with full text margin. Mostly with fine margins around the image or trimmed to the image in places. Fully laid down on Japan paper. Isolated minor tears in the margins, several printer's creases in the paper. The buttocks of Perseus with restored tear and tiny loss in the paper. A larger backed thin area in the centre of the image, isolated small thin areas in the corners and margins. Smoothed creases running vertically in the upper margin. The paper is somewhat discoloured and shows slight signs of wear and age. Individual tiny holes and minor rubbing. Despite the aforementioned defects, still good overall impression.
