TWO SIMILAR GUERIDONS
Transition style, Paris ca. 1860, one signed Sormani Paris 134 Boul. Haussmann, the other signed P. Sormani, 10 rue Charlot Paris on the lock of the drawer (Paul Sormani, 1817-1877).
Amaranth and satinwood, inlaid with a diamond pattern and in veneer. Rectangular "Brocatello di Jura" marble top, edged in bronze rod, on a cut-out, single-panel frame and curved legs with sabots, connected by a rectangular intermediate shelf. One with a bronze gallery on the intermediate shelf. Fine gilt bronze mounts in the form of acanthus leaves, fillets and floral wreaths with mesh. Freestanding. One gueridon with a key.
46.5 × 36.5 × 76.5 cm.
Good restored condition, minor losses. One marble top has been repaired.
