LARGE MAIOLICA PHARMACY VESSEL, "BOCCIA"
Sicily, Caltagirone, 17th/18th century.
Spherical vessel with flowering leaf tendrils and a grotesque mask, painted in ochre yellow, green and blue on a blue ground with incised scrollwork in a reserve, the rims edged in yellow.
H 34 cm.
Minor flaking of the glaze and chips to the edges
