HOLY APOSTLE
Lake Constance region, ca. 1470.
Carved wood, verso hollowed, and painted and parcel-gilt. The saint has a tonsure and an impressive beard, is standing slightly in contrapposto, with the right leg slightly extended. In his left hand, he is carrying an open book and gathering a fold of his robe.
H 111 cm.
Exposed old paintwork with losses and retouches.
