Provenance:
- Stuker Auctions, Berne, Fall 2013, Lot No. 1227.
- The Wehrli Collection, acquired at the above auction.

The beautiful clock on offer, which is in good restored condition, substantially corresponds to the clock supplied by Mathäus Funk for the Council Hall in the Erlacherhof in the City of Berne. Differences can be seen in the door bronzes used and in the marquetry. It is disputed whether Funk sourced the cases in France or manufactured them himself. Unfortunately, the movement of the clock on offer is not signed, however, it does have some features of Bernese movements. Cf. Hermann von Fischer, Fonck à Berne, Berne, 2001, p. 113, Ills. 201 & 202.
