Lot 2824* - A203 Montres-Bracelets & Montres de Poche - mercredi, 30. novembre 2022, 11h00
Tissot, large and very rare doctor's chronograph, 1939.
Case No.: 930103 large, three-part "Staybrite" case.
Dial: "Two-tone" silvered dial with pulsation scale and black respiration scale (to measure the number of breaths per minute).
Movement: Large manual winding chronograph movement No. 7587, Lemania Caliber 33.3 with screw balance and Breguet hairspring.
Band: Leather band with Tissot tang buckle.
Accessories: Extract from the Tissot Archives.
The extract from the Tissot Archives confirms the production of the case in Le Locle on 5 May 1939, after which it was sent to Lemania to be fitted with the movement. The legendary caliber 33.3 was also used by Omega in their chronographs. The Tissot on offer impresses with its exceptionally good condition: the dial with the extremely rare respiration scale has a nice and even patina. The hands are all original. The case still has its original edges and surfaces and was probably rarely worn and never polished. Completing this timepiece is the superbly preserved chronograph movement.
We would like to thank Tissot SA for their research.
