TEA POT WITH "HAUSMALER" CHINOISERIE DECORATION
Siegfried Ducret, Deutsches Porzellan und Deutsche Fayence, 1962, p. 280.
The question as to who was the painter of these specific chinoiserie decorations has been widely discussed, and the paintwork was subsequently attributed to the Bayreuth "Hausmaler" Christian Daniel Busch and Johann Philipp Dannhöfer (in Vienna until 1737) or alternatively to a Meissen or Viennese "Hausmaler", cf. R. Rückert, Meissener Porzellan, 1966, Plate 40, Ill. 126; S. Ducret, Keramos 17, 1962, pp. 19-26; Syz, Miller& Rückert, The Hans Syz Collection, 1979, p. 548; Beaucamp-Markowsky, Kunstgewerbemuseum Köln Vol. VI, 1980, pp. 89-93 K.
