"Michael's photographs are islands of serenity and silence in a loud and chaotic world. He approaches his work with passion and reverence. Instinctively he recognizes the source of his inspiration. The image reveals itself to him. He works with deep absorption and the final print is the culmination of his dedication and commitment to his unique vision. His prints are exquisitely seductive, spiritual experiences, akin to poetry or music. They strike somber chords yet they contain a mystical light that is both wistful and luminous, a light that emanates from some mysterious source... Michael's photographs speak not only of the mystery of this world but also of the human condition, of loneliness and isolation, of love and enchantment... Like fairy tales, they are magical and terrifying at the same time."
