PORCELAIN PLAQUE DEPICTING 'HOT IN PURSUIT OF FORTUNE',

Berlin, Royal Porcelain Manufactory, end of the 19th century. After a painting by Rudolf Henneberg (1825–1876), 1868.
Rectangular plaque. Set in a romantic landscape with a Neo–Gothic castle and depicting a gentleman rider on a narrow bridge chasing the mirage of Fortuna in the form of nymph, closely followed by Death riding a black stallion. The good spirit in the form of a virgin is lying on the ground. Blind stamp sceptre mark, K.P.M, additional marks and numbers 330 and 200. 20 x 33 cm. In a black frame.
