SMALL BOX WITH BOULLE MARQUETRY, Louis XIV, Paris ca. 1700. Wood and red tortoiseshell, finely inlaid with engraved brass and tin inlays in "contre-partie"; mascaron, cartouches, leaves and ornamental frieze. Cuboid box with sprung hinged lid, opened by pressing a button. Some losses and restorations. 10.7x10.7x8.2 cm. Provenance: - from a French collection.

Holz und rotes Schildpatt fein eingelegt mit gravierten Messing- und Zinneinlagen in "contre-partie"; Maskaron, Kartuschen, Blätter und Zierfries. Quaderförmige Schatulle mit per Knopfdruck zu öffnendem Klappdeckel. Fehlstellen und Restaurationen. 10,7x10,7x8,2 cm.
Provenienz: Aus französischem Besitz. Eine sehr ähnliche Schatulle ist abgebildet in: E. Berger, Prunkkassetten - Meisterwerke aus der Hanns Schell Collection, Graz 1998; S. 86 (Abb. 169).
