LACQUER COMMODE, Louis XVI, Paris ca. 1800. Wood, fluted and lacquered all around in the "goût japonais"; park and pagoda landscape on a black ground. Front with 2 sans traverse drawers below shallow top drawer. Bronze mounts and sabots. Brown/grey speckled marble top, not original. 131x67x85 cm. Provenance: - formerly R. Redding, Zurich. - from a Swiss private collection.

Holz kanneliert sowie allseitig gelackt im "goût japonais"; auf schwarzem Fond feine Park- und Pagodenlandschaft mit Figurenstaffage. Rechteckiger Korpus mit vorstehenden und abgerundeten Eckstollen auf gerader Zarge mit kannelierten Säulenbeinen. Front mit 2 Schubladen ohne Traverse unter schmaler Kopfschublade. Bronzebeschläge und -sabots. Ersetzte, profilierte, braun/grau gesprenkelte Marmorplatte. 131x67x85 cm.
