Clark, Pompeo Batoni, A complete catalogue of his works with an introductory text, New York 1985, Nr. 120, Abb. 115, S.242 Dr. Edgar Peters Bowron, the Audrey Jones Beck Curator of European Art, The Museum of Fine Arts, Huston hat die Zuschreibung der Zeichnung an Pompeo Batoni bestätigt und wird sie in das in Vorbereitung befindliche Werkverzeichnis aufnehmen. Die Zeichnung ist ein Entwurf Batoni's für die Figur des hl. Joseph in seinem Gemälde "Die Geburt Christi", das sich in der Galleria Corsini in Rom befindet (Inv. 272).
