TAPESTRY "AUX SCENES MILITAIRES", Regence, from the series "Histoire d'Alexandre le Grand", probably from the manufactory P. VAN VERREN, after designs by P. IJKENS (Pieter Ijkens, 1648-1695) for the figures and P. SPIERINCKX (Pieter Spierinckx, 1635-1711) for the landscapes, Audenarde ca. 1700. Depiction of 2 horsemen in a forest glen. Fine, stylised leaf and volute border. Shortened in height by sewing. H 286 cm (actually 342 cm). W 200 cm. Provenance: - from a private collection, Suisse romande. With extensive opinion by Prof. G. Delmarcel, Boechout 2015.

Régence, aus der Folge der "Histoire d'Alexandre le Grand", wohl Manufaktur P. VAN VERREN, nach zeichnerischen Vorlagen von P. IJKENS (Pieter IJkens, 1648-1695) für die Figuren und P. SPIERINCKX (Pieter Spierinckx, 1635-1711) für die Landschaften, Audenarde um 1700.
Darstellung von 2 Reitern mit Rüstung und Fahne in Waldlichtung. Feine, stilisierte Blätter- und Volutenbordüre. In der Höhe durch Nähen verkürzt. H 286 cm (eigentlich 342 cm). B 200 cm.


Provenienz: Privatbesitz, Westschweiz. Mit ausführlichem Gutachten von Prof. G. Delmarcel, Boechout 2015. Siehe hierzu auch Fussnote der Katalognr. 1068.
