NEYN, PIETER DE

In Leiden geboren, siedelt Pieter de Neyn für seine Ausbildung bei Esaias van de Velde (1587–1630) nach Haarlem um. Dort lernt er Jan van Goyen (1596–1656) kennen, der zeitgleich oder kurz davor ebenfalls bei Van de Velde in der Lehre war. Die Verbindung zu Van Goyen nimmt im Werk Pieter de Neyns eine prägende Rolle ein. Beginnend im Jahr 1626 weisen vor allem seine Landschaftsdarstellungen wesentliche Parallelen zu den Komposition Van Goyens auf.
