A HAFNERWARE BOWL

Langnau, Daniel Herrmann II, dated 1810.
With incised decoration and engobed in green, ochre and brown, the centre with a striding bear on a landscape strip and with foliate motifs on the rim. Circumferential inscription "Hans Schaller und Maria Schaller Gutes Sorgen machet reich wo Milch und Honig flieset Küchli und fleisch ist eine gute Mixdur den man wohl geniesen”. Marbled glaze on the back of the rim.
