GEMSTONE AND IVORY FIGURINE, probably India or Thailand, ca. 1900.

Silver gold plated and gold, total weight 1863g.
A magnificently decorated figurine in form of an elephant of ivory with stupa, decorated with head jewellery and dressed in a finely carved, gold plated silver mantle with gemstones and pearls: 1 star sapphire of ca. 13,4 x 12,3 mm, 2 facetted sapphires of ca. 11,5 x 10 and 11 x 7,7 mm, 1 yellow sapphire of ca. 10 x 8 mm, 1 pink sapphire of ca. 9,3 x 8,7 mm, 5 star sapphires of ca. 12 - 10 x 9,5 - 10 mm, numerous rubies as well as pink, blue, violet and yellow sapphires, moonstones, chrysoberyl cat's eyes, emeralds and natural pearls. Tusks, bell pendant and feet additionally decorated with gold. Ca. 22,5 x 18,5 x 11,5 cm.
