A SMALL INCENSE BOX (KOGO).

Japan, 18th/19th c. 4 × 6.5 × 1.5 cm.
Square body, decorated with iris in silver and gold hira- and takamakie with inlays of lead. The interior silver and gold nashiji on black lacquer. Inscribed wood box, the interior sealed.

Provenance: Old Swiss private collection, purchased around the 1950s (no invoice available), thence by descent.
