A GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF MAITREYA WITH A REPOUSSÉ AUREOLE. Tibeto-chinese, 18th c. Height 29 cm (including the aureole). Lotuses at the shoulder replaced.

Tibetochinesisch, 18. Jh. H 29 cm (mit Aureole).
Feuervergoldete Bronze, die Aureole ist getrieben, die Hautpartien sind etwas weniger gut vergoldet. Der Buddha der Zukunft sitzt noch im prinzlichen Bodhisattva-Schmuck auf einem doppelten Lotosthron. Die Hände hat er lehrend in dharmacakra-mudra vor der Brust erhoben. Neben den Schultern erblühen (ersetzte) Lotosblumen. Die Aureole ist möglicherweise ergänzt.
