A MINIATURE GILT BRONZE SCULPTURE OF A LOKAPALA. China, Tang dynasty, height 6.9 cm.

China, Tang-Dynastie, H 6,9 cm.
Bronze mit Resten von Feuervergoldung. Die grimmige Wächterfigur steht mit drohend erhobener Faust auf einem unterworfenen Dämon, die Linke stützt er auf die Hüfte. Von der Taille fallen zwei Schmuckschals in Wellen herab. Feine, ausdrucksstarke Kleinplastik.
