ROUND LIDDED BOX WITH PORCELAIN PAINTING
Late Louis XVI, probably France ca. 1800.
Inside 750 gold, lacquer and porcelain. Painted porcelain medallion with a depiction of Venus spanking Cupid. The closure ring decorated with a tendril frieze, scrolls, flowers and a satyr head. The inside bears an incised signature HB /-/- 396. The bottom with an old label: The British Antique Dealers Association, Certified for Customs Purpose Only, Over 100 Years Old.
