Transition, Paris ca. 1770. The case signed J. Goyer (Jean Goyer, maître 1760) and with the guild stamp.
Curved case, opulently painted. Gilt bronze mounts. White enamel dial "en cuvette". Neuchâtel movement with verge escapement, striking the 3/4-hour on two bells. Repetition on demand. 1 key.

Jean Goyer, born in Paris in 1731, was the only son of the ebenist and watch-case painter, François Goyer. Like his father, Jean Goyer specialized in making and painting clock cases.
