Dr. Laurens Schoemaker vom RKD, Den Haag, bestätigt die Eigenhändigkeit anhand einer Fotografie, wofür wir ihm danken. Dr. Schoemaker weist zudem auf zwei vergleichbare Kompositionen des Malers hin, die im RKD unter den Nummern 35437 und 35439 archiviert sind und ähnliche Elemente aufweisen, wie beispielsweise die Wellenformation, die Farbigkeit sowie die Darstellung der Schiffe am Strand.
