TABATIÈRE

Meissen, ca. 1750.
Painted with pastoral figures in park landscapes in the style of A. Watteau, in rocaille cartouches with colorful accents in purple, brown and yellow. The inside of the lid is painted with a wooded landscape with a corresponding scene and city architectural elements in the background. With a chased gold mount, and set with old European cut diamonds.
8 × 6.3 cm.

- Grand Ducal Residence, Karlsruhe (Koelitz 1883, Inv. No. 1889).
- New Palace, Baden-Baden (Richter 1919, Inv. No. 934).
- Collection of the Margraves and Grand Dukes of Baden, Sotheby's Baden-Baden, Oct. 5-21, 1995, lot 808.
- Important German private collection, acquired at the above auction.
- By succession into the present private collection.
