The commode on offer is almost identical to a commode attributed to Johannes Äbersold, likewise dated ca. 1780, from a private Bernese estate. Both commodes have the same dimensions and differ only in the type of marble used. The commode on offer is fitted with a Rosenlaui marble top in the most delicate shades of color, whereas the privately-owned commode is made of Zweilütschinen marble in black and white.
