Pencil, charcoal, pastel, wax crayon and technical data.
Signed and dated lower lefto on the upper panel: Christo 1985, as well as with additional project details on the upper and lower margin. On the reverse with hanging instructions.
Drawing in two parts: 38 × 165 cm and 106.6 × 165 cm.
In the original plexiglass frame.

The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by the Archive Christo und Jeanne-Claude, New York, 13 October 2020. We thank the archive for their kind support.

- Artist's studio.
- Received directly form the artist, since then private collection Switzerland.

“Both the people who rejected the project and those who helped make it a reality had to believe firmly that the Pont Neuf would one day be wrapped. Now, when I say that all this together makes up the artwork, it basically means that I divide my projects into two main phases or stages, which I like to call the "software" or "hardware" phase. In the software phase of a project I deal with drawings, plans, scale models and legal matters. In the software phase the result is not really visible yet, because there can only be vague ideas of what the bridge will look like. The realised work of art - the wrapped Pont Neuf - is the accumulation of a variety of forces which were undertaken and anticipated: formal, visual, symbolic, political, social and historical”.
