Provenienz: - Sammlung Strauss, Wien? - Schweizer Privatsammlung. Die Komposition dieses Gemäldes geht auf den Prototypen von Leandro Bassano "Allegorie der Erde" in der Walters Art Gallery in Baltimore zurück. Frederico Zeri vermerkt in "Italian paintings in the Walters Art Gallery (Baltimore, 1967, S. 409, Nr 281), dass sich eine sehr ähnliche Komposition in der Sammlung Strauss in Wien befindet und es ist gut möglich, dass es sich hierbei um unser Gemälde handelt.
