Tonneau-shaped matte-polished case No. 3058109 with curved attaches, screw-down back with engraved dedication, bidirectional rotating diver's lunette, Oyster triplock crown, lens with magnifying glass, matte-black dial with luminous indices, small luminous hands, one with Mercedes emblem, signed Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date, Submariner in red, 200m-660ft, Superlative Chronometer, Officially Certified. Automatic movement, Cal. 1570, Lever movement No. D105527 with Breguet balance spring, monometallic balance with microstella fine adjustment, Kif shock absorber. Oyster steel band with fold-over clasp. D 40 mm. Ref. 1680 came to market in 1968 and was the first Submariner with date window. The version with the Submariner-writing in red is the most desirable.

Referenz 1680 ist im Jahr 1968 auf dem Markt erschienen und war die erste Submariner mit Datumsfenster. Für den Sammler ist das Modell mit der Beschriftung Submariner in rot das Begehrteste.
