BOOK ILLUMINATION.-Italy, probably 14th century. Six sheets (three double-sided) from an antiphony with a six-line text in Latin recto and verso. With ‘horseshoe nail’ notes on four red lines, text in black and red. With numerous large and small initials in red and blue with filigree ornament. With a large ornamented initial S (imon ...) and two small initials N and E. Vellum, 50.5 x 73.5 (each double sided). The large initial: 12 x 11.5 cm, illuminated in colour and heightened with gold. The two small initials: each 7.5 x 7.5 cm, also illuminated in colour and heightened with gold. Two double sheets in gold frames, one double sheet unframed. Good condition.
