HISTORICALLY IMPORTANT BOUILLOTTE LAMP, belonging to Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte according to epigraphic tradition, Empire, Paris before 1814. Chased and gilt bronze. Height-adjustable light holder. The carrying handle damaged. Engraved inscription on the underside: 'Dieser Leuchter stammt aus dem Reisewagen des Kaisers Napoleon Bonaparte, der sich desselben während seiner Feldzüge bediente, und wurde nach der Einnahme von Paris daselbst 1814 dem Kabinets Minister Ernst Friedrich Herbert Grafen zu Münster Erblandmarschall von Hannover von dem Kaiser Alexander von Russland als Andenken an den Befreiungskrieg überreicht, an dem Münster regen Anteil genommen, indem er das mit Hannover vereinigte England bewog die Befreiung Deutschland's von dem Joch Napoleons zu unterstützen'.
