Italian, circa 1960/70, the inside marked Unoaerre with Maker's mark.
Lapis lazuli, the inside with white red/grey veined marble and gilt bronze in the shape of a lion's head and paws. The eyes of the lion's head are set with rubies. The paws in part indistinctly stamped "Italy, 18k" at the bottom. Hinge, probably silver gilt, the inside marked with Maker's mark AR, 800, UNOAERRE.
