CHAPARRO, ALDO
* 18.12.1965 Lima
The Mexican-Peruvian artist Aldo Chaparro was born on 18 December 1965 in Lima. Chaparro studied art at the Catholic University of Peru in Lima where he also worked in the studio of Hernán Pazos. In 1991 he moved to Mexico City, where he held a professorship at the University of Monterrey. His works are included in important international private as well as corporate collections, and his presence at art fairs continues to grow. Currently, the artist lives and works between Mexico City, Los Angeles, Madrid, and Lima.
The spectacular curved steel sculptures of Chaparro are the result of his continuous relationship with the material. The steel sheets the artist uses are symbols of the industrial age. In his own way and without the use of tools, he succeeds in transforming prefabricated materials into unique objects.Works from our auctions
