Bolton, London, 1921 or earlier.–Goudstikker collection, Amsterdam (label verso and seal). -Vaals auction, 1.10.1963, Lot 134, with ill.–Collection of Mr. Metsemakers, Vaals, circa 1964.–Galerie Koller, Zurich, November 1965, Lot 1241.–Swiss private collection. Literature: Borenius, Tancred, in: The Burlington Magazine, 1921, p. 143, fig. 142. The painting is registered at the RKD, The Hague, as by the hand of Nicolaes (Claes) Hals.
