FEMALE PILLAR FIGURE WITH THE HEAD OF A BIRD

Northern Syria/Euphrates Valley, 3rd millennium B.C.
Terracotta. Elongate body designed as a pillar with a bird's head. Opulent necklace featuring a serpent (the symbol of vitality and regeneration) coiled around her neck. Fixed in a plexiglass base.
H without base 19 cm.

- German private collection, 1980s (according to Triple Gallery).
- by inheritance in the Collection Gerhard Hirsch, Munich (according to Triple Gallery).
