TWO MODELS OF A RECUMBENT STAG AND DOE

Meissen, models probably by J.J. Kändler c. 1736.
Naturalistically modelled as counterparts, the stag with its head turned towards the left, with dark-brown coat, the doe with head turned towards the right, with reddish-brown coat. Without marks.
L 10 cm , 8.5 cm; H 9.5 cm, 6.5 cm.

Small restorations.

In his rock report from October 1736, Kändler listed: "Ein Hirschgen mit geweydern wiederum eines ohne Gehörne auch aufs Lager Beyde wiederum verbessert u.z. abformen tüchtig gemacht” (Pietsch 2005, cat.no. 29; Pietsch 2002, p. 43).
