Japan, Momoyama/early Edo period, height 43 cm.
Wood with polychrome paint and lacquer, the eyes inlaid. The blood-red, six armed guardian deity with fierce expression is seated in front of a moon-shaped nimbus on a lotus throne, supported by a multi-tier stand. Minor damages and restorations.
Provenance: Old Swiss private collection from Southern Switzerland.
