ALLIANCE PANEL "BACHMANN AND FISCHER"
Switzerland, dated 1623. Monogrammed H, probably Joachim Häsli.
Red and colorless glass painted in silver yellow, blue and green and with schwarzlot paintwork. Central depiction of the Finding of Moses (Exodus II), below, the two coats of arms of the donors, held by angels. The bottom with a cartouche inscribed: Domen Bachman zuo Rickenbach und Ana Fischerin sein Egemahel 1623. The upper images feature two putti, with an excerpt of Exodus II: Die mutter vor des Königs Zwang Verbard das Kind drei monat lang Darnach machts in eine Kestlein ein legts auf den Fluss mit grosser .in Als aus wolt sein sach gott darin Exodi II Cap.
Inner dimensions 31 × 20.5 cm, with the frame 35 × 24 cm.
Some cracks and a few repairs to the lead. Five old patches below the central group of figures.
