STANDING SAINT
Gothic, Swabia, ca. 1450/60. From the circle of Hans Multscher (1427-1467).
Carved lime, verso hollowed, and painted and parcel-gilt. The saint is wearing a crown, her hair is falling sideways in long waves, and she is wearing a belted robe and a cape.
H 103 cm (without the later base).
Crown incomplete, hands replaced and with losses. Former holes for a necklace around the neck. Repaired cracks, paintwork with losses and in part retouched. Pearls on the neckline of the robe are missing.
