Black chalk, heightened in white, on laid paper prepared with grey ground.
Numbered in pen and grey ink lower left: H: 22. Inscribed in black chalk at lower edge centre (not identified).

We are grateful to Dr Heinrich Thommen for confirming the authenticity of the study. It was presumably created in Florence, where Ludwig Vogel stayed at the beginning of 1813.
