CLOCK WITH WOODEN COGWHEELS
Appenzell, 18th century.
Rectangular, enclosed case, the dial carved and painted with rocailles, flowers and medallions depicting a view of a town and an Alpine transhumance scene. Movement and striking mechanism arranged one behind the other. Movement with verge escapement and front pendulum, striking the 1/4-hour on two bells. Repetition on demand. Dial painted later, monogrammed on the bottom right: U.H. and dated 1976. Brass weights.
